Bhagalpur city is one of the best and most ancient cities in Bihar. This city is situated in the east of the state of Bihar. This district is adjacent to the border of West Bengal. The outdated information about this district is associated with the Mahabharata period. In the Mughal Period. This district was located in the Southeast of Bihar Province. According to the religious texts. The Ava kingdom was established in Baka. Since then the history of Bhagalpur. Settled in Bihar is very old. Bhagalpur is a big city in Bihar. It was part of the empire and letter divided into Anga, Banga, Curling, Pudina and Samraj between the five sons of emperor Bali. It was known that the capital of King Anga Raj Karna of this Anga region used to be Champanagar near Bhagalpur. The First Munger district was connected with Bhagalpur. But then later Munger district was separated from Bhagalpur in 1832 AD. And a new district was formed was built. Then again in 1856 AD. Santhal Pargana was separated and made a district. Which is currently a part of Jharkhand. In 1954 AD. Another district Saharsa was carved out from the Northern piece of the Ganga. The total area of the Bhagalpur district is 2569 square feet. The subdivision includes Bhagalpur Sadar, Kahalgaon and the Navgachia. The national language of the Bhagalpur district is Angika. Which is also known as the Bhagalpuri language.  

         




The country's largest river ganga flows apart from this the Koshi River. On the other side of the district and on this land Tilak Manjhi had embarrassed to the noose of the gallows. The main river here is sandalwood. You must know that there is an ancient historical university named Vikramshila. Yes, this university is situated in Bhagalpur only at a distance of about 38 kilometres from here. This university is built so this university is called the proud of Bihar. It is said that it was built by Dharma Pala. The ruler of Palvansh. It was built between 770 and 810 AD. The people of this place organize the Vikramshila festival in the name of Vikaramshila and people celebrate this festival with great fanfare. The festival is considered a special festival for the people of Bhagalpur. There is a special place in Bgalpur named Sultanganj. Which is located on the banks of the river. At a distance of 28 kilometres in the west of Bhagalpur district. Devotees visit here in the months of June and July. There is a huge crowd of people to bathe in the Ganges and from here people take water. From the Ganges and take water here people go barefoot to give water for Deoghar and Badrinath Dham and offer water and worship here. But there is an Ajabagaibinath temple. Which is famous for its carvings. Due to the Bhagalpur being a part of the plains of the Ganges. The soil here is very fertile. Due to this crops of rice, wheat, Maize, Barley and oilseeds are grown in large quantities. And in addition fruits like Mango, banana and Litchi. Cotton is also grown in large quantities. The famous school here is Jawahar Navodhaye vidhalye and the famous college is Tilka Manjhi College. And Bihar Agriculture University in Sabour. Which are famous here and along with this there is a lot of silk cultivation here. People to do and its silk is famous all over the country. Due to this Bhagalpur is known as Silk City. And Bhagalpur is a silk city. so this place is a very attractive place.
